Privacy Policy
RevBook is an app for car owners to document and share their vehicles' service history. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only what those services provide (typically a name and email address).
Vehicle information
Information you add about your vehicles: make, model, year, VIN, license plate, odometer readings, photos, service records, repair notes, part replacements, and any documents you attach.
Drive data
When you record a drive, we collect GPS coordinates, speed, heading, timestamps, and distance. This data is used to draw your route on a map, compute statistics (distance, average speed, fuel economy), and generate the post-drive summary.
Location
The app accesses your device's location in the background only while a drive is actively being recorded. We do not track your location at any other time. You can stop location access by ending a drive or revoking the permission in iOS Settings.
Photos and camera
We collect photos you take or upload for vehicle profiles, service records, and posts. Photos are stored securely on our servers and are not shared beyond your explicit choices (see "How We Share Your Information").
Social activity
Posts, comments, reactions, and profile information you choose to share in the Explore feed. Drive shares and vehicle record links you create. Reports you submit about other users' content.
Device and app information
Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. This information helps us debug issues and improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the RevBook service
- Display your vehicles' histories and service timelines
- Analyze drive data to show maps, statistics, and summaries
- Power the Explore social feed

3. How We Share Your Information
Publicly visible content
Posts and comments you create are visible to all RevBook users in the Explore feed. Your profile (name, username, photo, bio) is visible to other users. Vehicle records you share via a public link are accessible to anyone who has that link.
Vehicle co-owners
If you share a vehicle with another RevBook user (for example, a household member), they can view and contribute to that vehicle's service records and drives.
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate RevBook. Each receives only the data necessary to perform their function:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and authentication infrastructure |
| Cloudflare R2 | Photo and media file storage |
| Mapbox | Map display and drive route analysis |
| Sign-in; optionally Google Drive backup (when you enable it) | |
| Apple | Sign-in; optionally iCloud backup via CloudKit (when you enable it) |
| Brandfetch | Vehicle brand logos (we send only make and model names) |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection on the email sign-in form |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by applicable law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or to respond to valid legal process.
4. iCloud and Google Drive Backup
If you enable backup, your structured vehicle and drive data is stored in your personal iCloud (via Apple CloudKit) or Google Drive account. We cannot access data stored in your personal cloud accounts. Note that photos and media files are not included in these backups — they remain on our servers.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as aggregate usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access your data: View your vehicles, drives, and records in the app at any time.
- Edit your content: Update or delete any post, comment, service record, or vehicle you've created.
